Min & Max Design Studio
A multimedia design studio at the intersection of projection, performance, space, and dramaturgy.
Founded in Taipei in 2024 by multimedia and projection designer Lee Kuo-Han (Max Lee) and dramaturg YANG Kai-Chun, Min & Max Design Studio works with image, projection, space, and visual storytelling. Its practice spans theater and live performance, exhibitions, media installations, architectural projection, and immersive environments.
Through the intersection of multimedia design and dramaturgical thinking, Min & Max explores how visual media interact with space, bodies, and narrative, creating relationships across different materials, artistic practices, and environments. The studio collaborates with artists and institutions across theater, dance, music, and visual art, while also engaging in audiovisual production, cultural advocacy, and new media research—continually expanding the possibilities of image and projection within live performance and contemporary art.

Lee Kuo-Han (Max Lee), born in Taiwan in 1992, received his BFA in New Media Art from Taipei National University of the Arts.
Working primarily across theater and live performance, Lee specializes in multimedia and projection design. His practice explores the perceptual and emotional interplay of light, time, and space, spanning holographic projection, architectural projection mapping, immersive environments, and video installations. He is particularly interested in how moving images interact with the material qualities of architecture, performing bodies, and the surrounding environment.
He collaborates extensively with artists across theater, dance, and music. His work has been presented at major venues including the National Theater & Concert Hall in Taipei, National Taichung Theater, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei, The Culture Yard in Denmark, and Lentos Art Museum in Austria. In 2026, he participated in Festival Off Avignon in France as the video and projection designer for a production presented at La Condition des Soies.
He has been invited to exhibit at the Prague Quadrennial in the Czech Republic and was selected for two consecutive editions of World Stage Design in the Professional section’s Video & Projection Design category, receiving the Silver Award in Canada in 2022 and the Gold Award in the United Arab Emirates in 2025.

YANG Kai-Chun

YANG Kai-Chun holds a BFA in Drama (Acting Track) from Taipei National University of the Arts and was previously enrolled in its MFA program. His practice focuses on gender, identity politics, and the structural power dynamics embedded within creative processes. Rather than working solely as a consultative advisor, he approaches dramaturgy as a form of creative practice, contributing to script development, stylistic construction, and rehearsal-based collaboration.
Drawing from queer theory, feminism, and years of social advocacy, Yang develops dramaturgical approaches grounded in broader social and political contexts. His practice continues to examine how artistic methods, power relations, and social issues intersect across performing arts and interdisciplinary creation.
From 2021 to 2022, Yang participated in the National Theater and Concert Hall (NTCH) Art Base Program, collaborating with artist-in-residence Huang Yu-Ching on research and creation centered on #MeToo. In 2023, he served as dramaturg for Huang Yu-Ching & Myan Myan Studio’s Man of the Theatre at the Taiwan International Festival of Arts (TIFA), which was shortlisted for the 22nd Taishin Arts Award. In 2026, he joined the Taiwanese team sponsored by the Ministry of Culture to present work at Festival Off Avignon in France.
His practice also extends into moving image and education. In 2020, The Rooftop, an original short drama film for which he served as performance director, received a Bronze Remi Award at the 53rd WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. He also served as series director of Let the Spectrum Speak: Gender Equality in School Life, an educational film project by the Taiwan Tongzhi (LGBTQ+) Hotline Association.
